Summer Festivals: The Hunt

To be honest, the outer edge certainly isnt my fav place in the Soul Watchers valley. Not because of the Looks...but mainly because of what happened here some time ago. 
It´s been quite a while since the last time I was there...and it really wasnt a nice Memory. Perhaps that´s the reason why I dont like the place that much. I could feel a lot of negativeness around here which creatures have set free in this place. Anger, sadness, depression....every single of those uncomfortable emotions combined.  

I flatten my ears and let out a deep sigh before increasing my speed in order to get to the hunting grounds a bit quicker. Suddenly I catch the scent of Silence and lift my head up into the sun bathed air and look around. Strange...I didnt notice her leaving the Meeting place. Mmmh... She´s like a shadow somehow.....

Eventually I spot her further back between the dried shrubbery and some trees. I slowly walk towards her while constantly glancing at the odd wide field next to the Woods of the outer edges. I keep staring at them altough I should rather focus on where I´m going. I almost bumped into Silence but stopped before that could happen. "Woops. Uh..Hi Silence." I greet the dark furred female and give her a toothy grin. I then back away from her a bit to give her some space and sit down myself, looking at the golden coloured field again. "Sooo...have you already spotted a few deers yet?" I ask, breaking the Silence. (hehe)

I should have somehow known it that she already knew where the herd of deers is since she knows this place better than any of the others of us. I only smile at her while listening to her words.

"Would you keep an eye on one of the groups? Not your pack of course, but maybe Titans or Lupin or my Watchers. I want to be sure that there are no cheaters. I'm going to ask two others who aren't hunting to help too. Would you mind asking someone for me?"

"Sure, I´ll do that. No prob..." I give Silence a short nod of agreement and then glance around the area with vigilant eyes. "Mmh..but the others are quite slow. I hope they´ll come soon." I still look towards the small path from where I came from, waiting for somebody to finally show up but it seems like they´re taking their time.

I let out a small huff and then look back at the field, admiring the scenery. It´s quite warm tough for this time of the day and I start to feel a bit uneasy under my thick coat. I lift my hind leg up and scratch my thick furred torso. The silvery neck hair floats to the ground and covers the ground below me once again. I then wag my tail and blow some wind towards my body in order to cool myself down a bit.

The sound of footsteps would awaken me. My eyes Would scan the area. I would stand up, Stretching my back, and my legs. "Wow, I feel so alive, So Rejuvenated." Hearing the Birds chirp and the sun blasting through the broad leaves of the trees, Brought a Instant smile upon my face. "Wait, I wasn't here when I blacked out. I think I was mediating. Anyway."

"Where am I anyway. By the looks of it, the moist ground and dry tress. I'm Out by the edges." Trotting down in search of anything I can eat. But also watching my own back.

I gaze at the mysterious landscape when I suddenly heard some leaves rustling behind me. I twitch my ears and look behind me but I cant see anything. I narrow my eyes at the trees and stare at the forest. "Silence...do you..hear somebody coming?" I ask a bit unsure and perk my ears attentively. The strange rustling stopped and it also seemed quite some distance away but I still keep an eye on my surroundings. I wonder who´s wandering around here in the forest...

Dashing a bit fast down the pathway, Nothing but trees and grass in sight, But I smell another wolf in distance. I try to follow the sent, But Its very Distinctive, Not sure if it will attack me when I get there. I stop for a while to think about what I should do. "It might be Good, It could be wolves, willing to help. Also They might be wolves willing to kill. I'm going anyway." I would continue in the sent of the wolves. My muscles getting tense, In case of attack. The Leaves brushing against my fur, the wind blasting into my eyes. I could feel I was almost there.

I eventually found the pathway to the Outer Edges where the hunt would be by following the faint scent of Silver. I raced along the pathway as fast as I could. I stopped running after a few yards when I realized I should save my energy for the hunt. But soon enough, I reached the area where Silver and Silence were sitting.
"I hope I'm not late!" I said. Than I caught a whiff of another wolf, but this one was unfamiliar to me.
"Do you smell that?" I asked Silver curiously.

Autumn trotted on the field feeling a bit wary as if someone was watching.Her white brownish coat seeming to be a bit camouflaged as dawn began to come.Autumn stopped and sat down staring at the moon before it went down behind the mountains and the last star disappeared.Soon the heat got to her and she started to pull out some of her fur leaving a nest of fur behind as she ran towards the woods.As soon as she got there she layed down lowered her head onto the ground.She felt a bit safer now since she felt like she was being watched the whole time she was out in the field.Rolling onto her side,she perked her ears up and listened for a squirrel or a marmot.Closing her eyes she listen ever,so while shifting her ear and setting one to the ground.Getting up she went to a hole and started to dig up the dirt and soon she shoved her head into it and came out with a marmot dangling in her mouth.She soon crushed its life artery in it neck and started to eat it licking her paws after she ate her fill.Sighing Autumn soon fell asleep.((198 word count))

I walk into the Outer Edges and recognize that the wolves who'd arrived already sensed something. I lay my ears back and walk over to Silver, then see, or smell, I guess, why. The scent of the wolf was almost...familiar. I look at her, confused as to who it was. Well, the wolf was getting closer, so I guess we'd find out.

My Attention gets drawn to Forest´s voice and I turn around, facing the eager She-wolf as she approaches us. "Hey there Forest!" 

By her question about being late, I only smile at her and shake my head in a calm way. My smile then vanishes again by her next question and I turn my gaze back to the forest. "Yeah...that means...I heard somebody or something in the Woods." I reply to her, fixing my eyes on the trees and shrubbery again. I then look back at her, Silence and also spot Stars arriving. I give the Lupin huntress a short nod as a greeting and then perk my ears again, still not knowing who it is but once he,she or it´s getting closer I will be able to feel the Aura.

(So sorry for being late everyone! I was gone all week at camp. It's good to see you haven't started without me. ^^)

I arrive and sit next to Starsguard, panting.
It's pretty hot out here on the outer edges. I scratch myself, taking out a cloud of white hair. The short fur underneath is blackish brown.

Crap. Dad, why'd you have to be an Arctic fox?

Anyway, I nod to everyone in greeting. The air smells of more wolves than I see, but I guess that is to be expected. These are the Outer Edges.

I trotted out to the outer edges, following the scent of Silver and Forest... however, there was another scent as well... one that I had not smelled before. I quickened my pace to catch up with the others, and to not be caught by whoever that strange scent was, not knowing whether or not it was friend or foe. Finally, I arrived with everyone else at the edge of the tree line. I slowed down and quietly walked up to and sat by Forest and Silver. "Sorry I'm late!" I said to them, still panting from my run. I then sniffed the air to let them know I smelled a stranger, but I didn't voice this aloud as I could tell that the others had smelled it as well. I scratched behind my ear briefly, making it snow with my white fur; I was trying to make myself seem calm and assured, however, on the inside, I was, to put it lightly, extremely eager to begin the hunt.

Autumn Soon awoke from the smell of other wolves.She quickly got up and perked her ears and let her hackle hairs raise,a bit startled from all the scents.Soon enough she noticed wolves going into the Outer Edges farther away from her and calmed down.Autumn seemed to be only alert to the smell of other wolves because she was afraid that they will be vicious toward her.((Which i know you guys won't roleplaying as my character Cx))After a while,She soon began to cross the field approaching them but when she felt close enough Autumn layed down observing there actions before moving closer.As soon as she saw quite a few wolves there.She crouched down and layed her ears back and tucked her tail in a little bit.Not to sure if she was welcome there she said in a low voice."Hello."Autumn would slowly lay down as soon as she knew she was welcome and run if they were going to attack.Holding her breath she awaited a action or a reply.

I glance at the stranger wolf. She looks pretty nervous. Probably intimidated by the size of our pack. I give her a friendly smile. "Hi," I say. "What can we do for you?"

I felt excited as the number of wolves around me grew rapidly with time. Though I could smell the fear radiating off of a lone wolf not to far away, I would handle that soon. My eyes almost began to let loose the waterworks as I saw Sal sit next to me. Wiping them gently I whisper in her ear, "See that wolf over there, sitting in the grass? I want you to introduce yourself and bring them over. Perhaps we will have yet another member within our ranks," 

  I feel a bit sad sending her from me so soon, but I wanted her ready for her future. This was something I had done so many times, to most of the wolves I was closest to. 

   Getting up, I get a better view of Sal and the loner. To be sure that they don't attack her. That would end horribly for them.

I hear a faint voice and look over to a loner wolf, one of the wolves I had smelled. I watched with interest as the loner ducked a bit with fear. I tipped my head to the side, wondering if the wolf was friend or foe. After a while of observing, I bent my head to lick loose fur off my chest. I watched as light gray hair fell to the ground and saw that underneath it there had been some darker gray, close to black fur.
Better to blend in. I thought to my self. The darker fur would probably help me in the Hunt.

I look in curiosity at the wolf that'd just arrived. She didn't seem hostile or anything, but I still smelled a second scent quite distant. I hope this wasn't some kind of ploy to distract us then the other wolf would attack. I doubted it, but who knows. I sit down and watch Winter talk to her. Hopefully she'd want to join.

I still focus on the bizarre wood behind me since I could´ve sworn that somebody is wandering around there but then I notice how the other´s Attention is drawn to something else so I follow their glances. My eyes meet the Image of a Brown furred something, hidden in the tall grass of the field. I raise an eyebrow and lower one of my ears as I look at the new wolf. She seems pretty wary infront of us...well...I couldnt blame her since we´re quite a big number of wolves.
Anyways, at least she shows respect and that´s a good sign. My right ear twitches as I hear Silence speaking to her daughter and I glance down at Salvation. "Mmh..."  
Silence wants her to approach the unfamiliar She-wolf first so she learns how to confront strangers on her own. I look back at the Lupa, that means on her back as she´s still ducking in the grass. I manage to smile sligthly to her since she seems okay to me. Salvation will master that situation for sure. It would be better not to disturb her so I stay silent and only watch. However, one unknown creature is still roaming around close by and my curiousity is increasing. Should I go check? I think to myself and glance back at the darker part of the forest.

My eyes focused onto the wolves that are joining them, I stay down low, Watching and listening to the voices. The Sound Familiar but I don't recognize them. My mind is telling me, I know them, But I can't put Faces to Voice, I slowly walk out of the bushes in a sneaking manor. I stand and walk over to the other wolves.  I would Recognize them and smile. "For A Second, I thought you where a gang." I let of a deep laugh.

Slighlty startled by the sudden voice, I turn my head to the right and spot a male wolf, approaching us aswell. I stand up and stare at him with alert eyes. So that´s the wolf who walked around here...

I raise my silvery tail a bit but keep a somewhat relaxed gaze. I narrow my lime-golden eyes at him, his nose, his eyes and snout. That brute...seems familiar somehow... Strange. I sniff the air and catch his scent. Mmh..dont I know this smell? I think for a moment..and in fact he was the exact Image of a certain someone I´ve known from the past but that couldnt possible be him .... could it?

Autumn wanted to stay in posture seeing how some of the wolves didn't trust her yet but she slowly stood up and backed away a few paces before laying down on her side revealing her stomach which one could have possibly opened in one quick dash.She closed her her eyes and let herself breath again.She knew she was making a act pretty much but she wanted the wolves to trust her now.Seeing how she knew all of them were friendly but few of them had there doubts on her."If you are foe willing to kill you can kill me now.If you are friends i would like to be accepted..."Autumn spoke once more opening her eyes and staring into one of the wolves eyes.After a while she closed them and tucked it in more into her chest fur.

Seeing how the stranger is putting herself completely at our mercy, I am confident enough she means no harm. Besides, nothing can really hurt us as long as the entire clan is together.

Ever compassionate, I move a little between the stranger and the rest of the Soulwatchers, subtly protecting her. Even if she attacks, I have faith the others will protect me. I lean down and sniff her neck, identifying her scent. "What is your name?" I ask.
